Pros:
- Great Packaging
- Beautifully built, reminds me of a newer Mac, very high quality
- Small
- Fast enough for business apps
- Decent battery life considering the size
- Outstanding Display!!!
- Connectivity via Bluetooth, Moto v710 & Verizon kicks ass
- Runs TabletOS 2005 just fine
- Runs Redhat Enterprise Linux just fine (Only works in 800x600 in X and in text mode. Only the dock ethernet works. No drivers for anything else. With drivers this could be a GREAT linux system).
Cons:
- Doesn't boot from USB Flash or USB Floppy
- Some of the drivers need some serious work
- 802.11a range is weak, but I bet it could be improved with a revised driver
- Stylus around the screen edges is flakey
- Built in mic doesn't work as far as I can tell
Summary:
Really cool device with a lot of potential. Definitely aimed at the executive or systems engineer type with a 2K price tag. There is some viable Linux options here. I can't speak highly enough about the quality of the chasis. The "coolness" factor is huge with this device. I can keep my mobile phone in my pocket, dial up to the internet on my oqo, do RDP/Citrix sessions. It will effectively make my life easier.
Rating:
8/10
(Improved Wifi signal strength and improved drivers would have given it a 10/10)
