| StoreTags: OQO, Model 02, pictures, hacking

As you probably know, I’m a fan of the OQO Model 02! But I’m also a fan of HSDPA…
Unfortunately, so far the Model 02 is only available with EVDO from either Sprint or Verizon, and despite getting the SERO discount two weeks ago, I was not very excited with the idea of paying another bill beyond my existing T-Mobile and Cingular accounts. So what’s a girl to do? Well, just mod her Model 02 and replace EVDO with HSPDA, of course 
And that’s exactly what I’ve done! Take a look at the pictures of my mod and keep your eyes peeled for more information soon…

*Chekote*, all you really need is a Cingular voice plan ($40 and up) + the affordable $20 MediaMax 200 unlimited data plan (200 is the # of text messages) - this is great if you already have a Cingular voice plan... Any unlimited data plan or dedicated data plan will work. however!
Of course you can also use T-Mobile, but you'll be limited to EDGE speeds.

I want to add one of my 32GB SSD cards to my OQO and I am seriously contemplating your HSDPA mod, too. Do you know of a chip that offers the ability of voice/text as well. I have a chip that I modified for the 01 back in the 01 days, but I think it'll be too big. I haven't opened the OQO yet, but the 01+ had rubber shock absorbers which make the space inside the OQO for the hard drive rather large....as you already know...the SSD is very thin like regular ram thickness so it might be possible to get something else in there where the SSD drive goes. I know you had mentioned somewhere in a handtop thread that you settled for a certain HSDPA chip over a chip that you really wanted because the chip you really wanted wasn't out yet and you said you might upgrade to it later. I can't find the thread. Actually, I haven't been able to find the search feature on this site for the past six months or longer, not sure where it went. Anyway, any thoughts here?
I sorta am in the park of just adding an SSD drive this week and just waiting for an HSDPA chip to come out, then use my Sprint EVDO in my Dlink pc card router. But you know what I really want is to use the OQO as a phone as stupid as it seems. If anyone knows what happened to the search function on this site then I'd greatly appreciate it as I think that would help.
