golly gee.
The most desperately missed feature that's been holding people back
from embracing the FlipStart?
"nope, they don't need a CF or SD slot. nobody really wants a another USB port.
everyone says its too bulky and awkward to use one-handed, and they think the the built-in camera sux.
So what do we do?
YEAH! Lets tack on another camera!
That you can only practically use when the machine is opened and held in one hand!
This should be enough to satisfy *everyone* "

Hey, at least it doesn't examine your nostrils.
A clip on card reader would be a Very Useful Product Indeed.

It seems that this is another example of some people motivated more by looks rather than function (yes, I hear you GreatDane). The FlipStart device is being adopted by folks who need a more rugged device than one that is "prettier" to meet their specific usage model. The ability to protect the screen and keyboard, without requiring a case, and adjusting the display while on a table are things that resonates with a lot of vertical customers.
The Snap Camera is another example of function over aesthetics. A need was seen for some users to be able to take high-resolution photos occasionally, and a mechanism to enable this was created. That same mechanism could be used to provide accessories like GPS, finger-print scanning, memory-card reader, etc. These could be created by anyone and that would be great.
Not everyone here will "get" this product and that's ok. The ones that do will understand the tradeoffs that were made and appreciate the options available to them.

This is such a awkward design, not to mention such a poor camera (no auto-focus, no flash)... Just carry a decent camera phone with Bluetooth and call it a day! You can setup the phone to just email the pictures or send the pictures to the FlipStart with Bluetooth.
