So, I recently tried restoring a Ghost image from my FireWire hard drive using Ghost from within XP and Ghost hung before even starting to restore the image. This corrupted the MBR and partition table on my OQO''s hard drive and forced me to find a way to run Ghost from a bootable CD that mounts my FireWire hard drive.

My USB/FireWire CD-ROM drive combined with the OQO can only boot from some bootable CDs. This lead me create a bootable CD that mounts my FireWire hard drive and then mounts itself to run Ghost, This allows me to restore any Ghost image on my FireWire hard drive or on the bootable CD itself.

This bootable CD is bulletproof on any PC that supports the most basic bootable CD features! It works with IDE, SCSI and USB CD-ROM drives...

Wow! I recently had the same problem (almost). My MBR didn't get fried. I recently purchased a Sony UX280P and got the optional FireWire DVD drive. I loaded my old copy of Ghost 2003 and had the same results. My comuter hung during the boot process and could never find the DVD drive. The log in Ghost suggested I try severaly command line options but I was not able to get those to work either.

How were you able to crate a bootable CD/DVD for your OQO?

Thanks
