Last week I made a new accessory for my OQO which seems to be sorely needed.

I love to use it in vertical mode, in this mode I would stick it in the original stand with Outlook and Messenger and OneNote open. making it like a notebook with email on my office table while I can work on my main laptop and take notes on my OQO. at night I would do the same at home. Problem is that the stand really do not support the OQO very stable in the vertical mode.

Solution. Soo I broke down, pulled out a caliper and got the messurements. then made a rough sketch and transfered it to a CAD app - about 5 minutes later I cut the first version from 3mm acrylics, it worked and after a quick adjustment to get the leaning angle right I cut version 2.0 this one was perfect and is the one shown in the pictures.

I have made a CorelDRAW file of the layout and am happy to share it with anyone interested. The stand can be cut from any material of reasonable structural soundness. Im thinking that 1/4" oak might make a beutiful bracket. email me for the draw file.

Enjoy.

Nice and clean. It looks like it breaks down into two pieces and stores flat with a footprint no larger than the OQO itself.

Yes it does break down, it's cut from one sheet and can slide in the back of the OQO pouch. Laser cutters are a great thing, but this can also be cut with any scroll-saw.

If you've got a laser cutter and can turn out clean work like what you've shown, you could easily sell a few stands here.

I'd definately be interested in buying one. How does $20.00 + shipping sound? :-)

That's neat. Is the template that you posted the exact measurements of what you made?

I'd be up for a set too, maybe two of them. I love it it appears to float above the ground, making the OQO look even smaller and more angelic!

So, here's my suggestion. Hopefully there's a way to make the vent and port openings work from all four positions: 1&2 landscape and 1&2 portrait mode. It's really useful to be able to power the OQO while in a stand. The 2nd landscape mode allows one to power and make the USB cable and audio ports available. Of course, just increasing the height of the "legs" allow that also in just the 1st and 2nd portrait mode, as long as it doesn't destroy the viewing angle all together.

Also, two slide-in cutouts would allow two reading angles. What do you think about that?
