Hi to you all! I'm new to posting here, but have been an avid reader of this forum since buying my beloved OQO 01 several months ago, & firstly i'd like to thank everyone for their input as i've been able to find answers to almost any query i've had & have also learnt a lot more about my little OQO since visiting this site!

Last week I bought the OQO 01+ and have just completed my1st ever reinstallation on the 01 ready to sell it and am in the middle of installing the updates for it.
I'm a bit confused over the wireless updater(5/06/06), as when I installed it the 1st time several month ago, i'm SURE it was included on the drivers' page of the OQO site but it's now not included on that page but I did find it elsewhere on their site. Does this update still need to be installed seperately, or has it actually been included in one of the other updates, ie: Universal Installer (SoftwareUpdate_v1-5)?

I hope someone can help me with this as i'm only a novice with pc's-I had to research for HOURS to find all the info so I reinstalled it 'properly' & i'm terrified of messing it up-there wasn't anything wrong with it, I just wanted the person who buys it to have a 'clean canvas'! Mind you, now after reading of all the scams on ebay, even selling it is now worrying me
Thank-you in advance for any help

Ok. I installed all the appropriate drivers from the OQO page & found that the Bluetooth icon only appeared for a little while in the taskbar-then i'd noticed a little while later that it had dissapeared.

I followed ALL the instructions from the Wireless Updater page from the OQO site, & yes, found that the Bluetooth Radio was not working properly, so I disabled it then enabled it as the info suggested. Wireless radio then worked again as it found my wireless network, BUT still no bluetooth icon in taskbar! (I checked in Device Manager & all seemed ok-radio working, Bluetooth Icon with 2 subfolders-MS Bluetooth Enumerater & OQO Bluetooth Radio, & I thought this was normal)
I carried on following the instructions & installed the Wireless Updater but a message appeared saying that it was unable to prepare the Bluetooth for the update-check that it is enabled & that it is not being used by any Bluetooth devices.

I checked again in Device mangager & OQO Wireless Radio is working correctly & in the Bluetooth section-there are now TWO Bluetooth Icons-one called Bluetooth Device with a subfolder called-OQO PS2 Upgrade & the other icon beneath is called-Bluetooth Radios with a subfolder called MS Bluetooth Enumerator.

I have checked that everything is working & enabled (don't know the MS Bluetooth Enumerator appeared from) but it looks all ok to the VERY untrained eye & then after checking the WiFi was on (Fn-Wifi) I tried installing the Wireless Updater again & received the same message again (it's got a 'code -2' as the reason)

Can anyone PLEASE help & tell what's gone wrong or where i'm going wrong? It's now driving me POTTY & I just haven't a CLUE what to do to rectify it. I have searched & searched for answers & have tried everything that I have found so far-even as far as wiping & reinstalling everything AGAIN in case I did something wrong the first time.

I would REALLY appreciate some help please if anyone has the time? Yes, I am a blonde woman but didn't think I was thick-up until now, so can someone please help before my husband starts with his 'blonde' jokes?

Thank-you kindly

You're doing it right. The Wireless Updater is made for the 01 (not for the 01+).

The error message while installing the Universal Installer is normal because you haven't installed XP SP2 yet which has the Bluetooth update.

Do BT devices appear in Device Manager?
Have you tried pairing the OQO with another BT device?
If so and it works, all is well.

Hope this helped...can't believe that no one posted a reply to you since 11/27...bunch of slackers...
