How does an enterprise manage XP and WM5 in one device?

Since most companies stink at managing XP desktops and notebooks, how does a company patch, secure data, backup, force system configuration (antivirus, antispyware, personal firewall, hardened registry entries, etc.) and manage a cPC that has 2 operating systems within one device?

From the desktop perspective, I've seen excellent enterprise desktop management for Win2k and XP using products like Microsoft SMS, Novell Zenworks, and Altiris CMS, but I haven't seen a lot of companies actively managing PocketPCs or smartphones.

I've seen some companies use BlackBerry management software, but for the most part users self-manage Treo and PocketPC devices (smartphones and PDAs/PPCs).

Last I knew, there was a Zen for PDA's (novell), that was supposed to be able to provide enterprise management of PDAs. I've never used it. We dumped our Novell eDirectory for Microsoft's AD for the most part. I didnt' work with Zen too much so I wasn't affected.

I wonder if the existing desktop management software for XP systems can be utilized to see the partitions, etc, of the WM5 side. If WM5 is loaded into memory from a portion of the disk, then it stands to reason that the disks can be imaged like with ghost.
