Can someone point me to the web address to get my dualcore by this week.

The CEO and others had promised that today is the day so I have my credit card ready to go. So many people have cried "vaporware" however I take the folks at dualcore at their word.

I am so excited. As soon as I find the website to order I am putting a rush on my order so that I can have it by 3/2/2006.

Kyone the VIA processor is actually a lot better than the current transmeta processor. In terms of benchmarks it is normally 50-80% faster in most tasks. There are several benchmarks indicating the VIA's strengths as opposed to the Transmeta. For me the whole processor things is irrelevant, if the cpc has it the new oqo will have it, so really the only thing worth noting is who has the better design?

I think we all know what I think on that.

One other thing of note is that the VIA uses a bit more juice at full steam than the Transmeta, so while it is faster, is the amount of processes being accomplished justifyable to the amount of juice being consumed? (I know i need to work on my spelling but im at work)

Those are good points, but I thought the oqo is too tiny for a VIA chip...right?

im not sure about that. I was looking at the VIA chip its not much bigger than the transmeta. the new transmeta is supposed to be coming out soon as well. This update of the processor will overcome many of its current pitfalls. Exciting stuff. I wonder which one will be the reigning champ.

re: vaporware -- I do wish that manufacturers could be a little less imaginative in their estimated release dates, but I'll have to say that this entire genre suffers from the vapors. The OQO ran a vapor trail two years in length before the first units went on sale. The Flipstart is vying for that record. Hopefully Dualcor won't try to beat it.

I'm sure that at least one of the reasons for the timing is to get the unit as functional as possible. That said, look for at least one bug-fix firmware/OS update within six months of the actual release date.

The longer it takes, the more people who were looking at the cPC will either decide to wait to see what else comes out or buy something currently available.

That antelope video is the most amusing and appropriate video I've seen in a while. Thanks for the link.

If you don't believe it, just wait and see. My information has nothing to do with their website, nor can I disclose where I received it, but it is quite accurate. A lot of people are going to be very upset when the product is finally released. It's getting consumer press, but no consumer will actually be able to buy one for a long time, if at all."

So far the only thing I would be upset over is not getting their extended capacity external battery to try to get to work with the oqo...lol. I really did try to like it, but I am changing my tune with it pretty fast.

What don't you like about that battery educationk12?

I meant I'd be upset if they wouldn't sell me the battery for my oqo. ;) With the hope thought that it is 3.7 volts and we could take a battery adaptor to make it work with the oqo.

"The system--which will get shown off at the Computer Electronics Show and become available in March--will carry a $1,500 price tag, although customers will get volume discounts for buying several at once."

From a interview.

Its not the end of March. We should all hold hands and pray.

If I remembered right its said to released on March 1 in DLMag video interview

Maybe they are waiting for CEBIT. Next week will telll.....

Forget about dualcore. Get an OQO>

cPC = Waporware?

Even if not, I think it would be wise for them to delay any announcement until after this Origami buzz cools off. They can't compete or get a word in edgewise, it would be a huge waste of whatever marketing money they have.
