I spoke to a gentleman today who has the Dualcore available. All you guys holding your breath better go topside and get some air. The price I was quoted was $1,989, ***yes $1,989 not the $1500 we were first quoted***

He also said that the unit that sells for $1500 doesn't have WIFI and doesnt have any warranty. I really don't know whether I should be mad at Dualcor or the bearer of the bad news. In fact, hey I don't even care about this company anymore, Dualcor that is. The extra $498 is for the warranty and a WIFI attachment. Excuse my tone but the CPC can kiss my azz.

nyguy that doesn't work its a link to your gmail account which we can't access.

Can you copy and past it?

Ooops.. It was a PDF file that was sent to my email.

The site has similiar pricing

Anyone call the company? What does this mean for the regular commercial consumer? Are they buy-able?

If you're in teh USA and want more realistic prices, you will hav eto wait until Dualcor sells the unit direct.

NyGuy, The company you linked to sells only to the government. I'm told that DualCor doesn't sell direct.

Heck I guess this device is not vaporware then HUH

JohnG,

They were willing to sell to my company this morning. PM me and I give you the number to the gentleman I spoke to if you really want to order.

Slickster,

From what i remember, in a earlier thread you said you already placed your order. I know for a fact that is a lie. The company doesnt even have them in stock yet, but you managed to get a order placed on Sunday even though the company wasnt open.

NyGuy, it seems that this would be the reason for the pricehike... not DualCor. From what I understand of the current release, it's not supposed to be for general resale.

Got this email from WestCorp. rep this morning----

We offer the DualCor CPC to government customers (primarily military and homeland security) and have a non-commercial pricing structure, as well as the fact that certain elements are removed and/or added for government use. For instance, our military customers are not authorized to have Bluetooth or wi-fi, so our standard units come without it. Additionally, the units we sell must be TAA Compliant and cannot be manufactured in China, Malaysia, Taiwan, etc. Because our units are produced in the U.S., this also adds to the overall cost. The commercial sales of DualCor CPC's will have an industry standard warranty as well as all noted specifications.

Wraith808,

I sent you the info you needed, check your PM's. Good luck

Can non government customers buy a cpc? How do they know who is government customer?

THe goverment pays with goverment funding. The fund sites are traceable as being under the goverment. At least that is how it is done when i have to purchase some stuff for work. In person its kind of obvious though which is how the deal probably was struck I imagine. You don't buy 74 cpc's and have never had a face to face with the product or a representative of the product.

And yes I did get my order in since I am with a governement entity!!! Either way the cPC is not vaporware and still cheaper than OQO

I called Westcomp today and they explained they are not authorized by Dualcor to sell to the private sector. Pretty simple and straightforward to me. I don't think there's any conspiracy going on. I know the government won't pay full price for anything so obviously the units Westcomp have vary slightly from the ones everyone has heard about, OR the $1500 price is BS. I guess I'll just have to wait and see.
