I believe the VIA is capable of SSE2 for sure, but not so sure about the SSE3. I do know that the VIA compared to the Transmeta whoops it big time. The main reason for this is it ability to handle data better. The transmeta is stuck to a 32 bit PCI architecture with a single pipe for all info. THat means all IO calls and such go through it as well. It is a huge source of bottlenecking with the transmeta. Apparantly the VIA has circumvented some of these problems.
