Do you really want one? Based on benchmarks posted on link the 1.5GHz Via C7M is around 40% the speed of an equivalent clocked Pentium-M. Making it just slightly faster than the 1GHz oqo. I would much rather have the OQO than the Dualcor, smaller form factor, almost the same speed!

The processor power is not the major issue in a market niche this product addresses.
The OQO not a phone. This is.
As for the origial question, sorry, I don't have an answer for you as I am in the same boat. If they say they are going to release it in March 06, then do so. If there's a few things to refine before being offered to consumers, then say so. Either way, let us know what is going on, DualCor!

The processor power is a major issue if you want to run windows XP and any serious applications. Try running windows XP on any Pentium II and I am sure you will agree. Based on current benchmarks I can see, the Dualcor is a very slow machine, that is why they include 1G of RAM to make it appear faster since you can cache most applications on RAM and have it appear almost instantaneous. The only exception will be on encryption since it has built in hardware acceleration (random number generator). The processor issue is moot if you run WM5 all the time or use it just as a phone. But I think people purchasing the dualcor will want to run Windows XP a good portion of the time, otherwise why buy it? Just get a good PDA phone like the Dopod 900/HTC Universal/iMate Jasjar will suffice, at 1/3 the price.
Just my 2cents, sorry for the off-topic

Or a Treo 700W and an OQO?
I still think the DualCor dual OS strategy is a gimmick.

I like Dualcor, because of 3 in 1 idea (PC, PDA and Phone). There is no any other device so far simliar to Dualcor. Personally, I prefer everything built in rather than add-on. Like OQO, I always need to make internet connection outside via bluetooth with my cell. phone. Also, OQO is way too warm and very weak in battery life. With Dualcor's concept, it will provide users with a full flexibility. Hope it will be available very soon.

futurehut,
Dualcor does not yet have built in phone functionality. Its battery life is no better than the OQO when using the XP OS. This is obviously not the case when using the WM OS.

I like having 3-in one as well, I just wish dualcor will fit inside your shirt pocket and have a decent CPU. I am not asking for too much, am I? Maybe I am. Just hope OQO model 02 will have a 3G phone built in, uses the 1.7GHz Efficeon CPU w/SSE2 and remain the same form factor with 2x the battery life

This review will settle the doubts and capabilities of the new C7-M processor. It's a review of a mini-itx board that is pretty much exactly the same specs wise. Equivalent to a Pentium 3 at 800mhz. Not impressed.

If you have a (OQO) PC then you can do away with PDA and Im still of the opinion that even if it has a built in phone it is not something you can take with you everywhere so you will need a second phone for voice. As for all built in, it doesn't have a built in keyboard. I like the cPC but I like the OQO more ;)

I also owned an OQO, and have been enjoying internet surfing very much on the go. No doubt! OQO is a great portable and powerful PC, and I love it.
As far as I know, the next generation of mobile devices are heading to push (ALL-IN-ONE) concept, which will combine PC, PDA and Cell.Phone in your pocket. Dualcor is a great example, and we will see the similar devices more to be launched on the computing market very soon.

hmmm, DC is looking worse everyday... it was supposed to have a built in phone then they take it out and claim it will be in the next models, they say they will lanch in feb-march and its may and so far nothing.
lol... what a mess.
p.s: can someone please explain to me why would u want WM5 if u have XP?
wasn't the point of Windows mobile is to cover the absence of windows XP when ur out and about?
makes no sence

The windows mobile and the palm operating systems are good for quick access to pim applications and for low power consumption.
