I just received notice that the UX180P I ordered has shipped!

Product: VGN-UX180P
Qty: 1
Description: Sony VAIO® UX180P Micro PC
Date Shipped: 06/28/06
Shipping Status: htt p://www.fedex.com/blahblahblah
Shipper: FEDX
Package Tracking Number: BLAHBLAHBLAH

I ordered on the morning of 5/16 right after they showed on Sonystyle.com. For those of you that ordered right away, you should be getting the good news soon too, I imagine.

Actually, the email says "The following items have been shipped:" The FedEx site is where some have seen the message that "Package Data Transmitted to FedEx".

It's certainly conceivable that they are only loading these onto a FedEx truck now, but I'm holding out hope that FedEx will deliver those with overnight shipping tomorrow. However, FedEx still doesn't recognize the tracking number provided. On a positive point, I have in the past received shipments before the tracking number appeared valid. We'll probably know more tomorrrow.

I spoke with Sony today and they got in 750 units. Of those 750 150 were preorders and they have enough for new orders. The site is not updating that they have it in stock.. All of them are shipping today..

Thanks for sharing that news Dash.

Let’s hope for all of us that the trucks are now on the move and our UXs will be in our hands sooner than later.

FWIW we were first anticipating a shipment on July 5th and this is all happening now on June 28th/29th … and I have to say that Sony at least deserves a thank you for that.

Me too! On the truck for delivery today. Woo hoo!!

I'm not completely surprised Sony is shipping these ahead of the orignial date. Back in the Clie days it was pretty common for SonyStyle to ship pre-orders a week or so early. I admit, I'm not necessarily happy with a lot of the business decisions Sony makes, but they certainly do a better job than most on getting new product out on schedule.

cbnash dont hold your breath. Anyone who orders today has a 24 hour proccessing time. Your order will ship on Monday ..I got bit the same way yesterday. They told me the same thing.

Well, to be fair, the guy at Sony did tell me they had a 24 hr. processing time, but since I ordered before 12 noon (their local time), he felt it would go out today, we'll see!
