I like Tmobile. They don't seem to be the big money grabbers that ATT and Verizon are.
The real suckey part is if you're thinking of getting a new phone you have to think two or three different technology backbones.
Just wondering though since I might be getting a new phone.

Last I heard T-Mobile USA is aggressively working to roll 3G out for the fall of '07.

You would be surprised who cell companies need to pay to use other companies backbones. (referring to the network) I got a friend who works at Sprint, and he says that for the DC area most cell providers and local phone companies use their trunk for a lot of actions. So people like T-mobile are going to be largely reliant on others for backbone support. Of course it their towers are set up, they can just equip them and then it's the same old story. Piping it through the neighbors pipes.

P.s.: The only thing that interest me in terms of mobile broadband will be when it's as cheap as home broadband or when the two can be merged. (Verizon home and mobile broadband at one price ($50 would be perfect)).

*anthonyb*, if Cingular is any indication, T-Mobile won't charge more for their 3G data plans than for their EDGE/GPRS data plans - with Cingular, all the plans work the same for HSDPA/UMTS as for EDGE/GPRS, all you need is a 3G compatible SIM card and device, and you get 3G speeds.
Conversely, you can use a 3G SIM in an EDGE/GPRS-only device and it still works, but not at 3G speeds - HSDPA/UMTS and EDGE/GPRS settings for DUN are identical.

I have a feeling that the HTC Athena (Advantage), Tmo Ameo might be a logical one to expect available for Tmo USA, but I started comparing that to current PPC Phones, and its HUGE! As I've shown before its formfactor like OQO just thinner, but compared to any Smartphone of any type right now that is HUGE!! Also just figured out how that keyboard attaches, with a STRONG magnet..

Esck2, be carefu. Dol not underutilized the awesome browsing power of your E70. Tzones is a data plan not WAP. Your E70 is an HTML and WAP capable device. Make sure you are using the HTML browser rather than the WAP browser. In the old days cellphones only had WAP and thus tmobile only charged 6 bucks for the data plan. Your E70 tricks tmobile into giving you the data for HTML while still only charging 6 bucks.
Got it.
