Tzones, with a html cellphone be it symbian or windows mobile, gives you the exact same data functionaity as the full dataplan does. The difference is you pay 6 bucks versus 29 bucks.

I didnt like the E70. I do strongly recommend you check out the E61 though.
Its my primary browser since I sold my OQO. The screen is large and beautiful.

I know sorry for not being more exact in my wording, in fact I know nothing about Tzones, nor do I need them but sounds like they are the best solution for you and you love it!

Well the thing is my wife has the 6280 now, and likes it for the keyboard, and the size of the phone. For her there would be a few things she would need A) Skype (not easily possible on Symbian still) B) read a PDB file with iSilo, there is a Beta iSilo that works till March 15th now for S60 3rd, but for this usage she'd prefer touchscreen (She's used my WM5 device with this) C) Wants to have access to this overseas radio live stream that is available in WMP format only. So from this point of view the HP HW6945 I got her (also ) I guess would be the closest thing to the E61 (formfactor) in a WM device. I just hate the QVGA screen of the HP though!

Use any phone you like. I wanted to make you aware of Tzones. The E61 is the best browser capabilities than any other phone on the market.

Here is a quick how-to on E61 and Skype: link It works great on the E61.
Here is a quick how-to on E61 and internet radio. link Its awesome on the E61.
Here is an awesome PDF reader on the E61. link

I do not think you can define what is the "best browser" on a mobile device since people have so very different needs when they browse, who need perfect pictures, who doesn't need images at all etc.

As for Tzones, I have no reason to use that since I already pay for (for various reasons) Tmobile GPRS internet.

TRUST ME, I would LOVE for the Nokia's to work with what I am looking to do, if I could I wouldn't think twice about getting the upcoming E90, but I have spent weeks and weeks on trying to find solutions for these ask tnkgrl she's fed up by now answering my "stupid" (since Im not familair with symbian too much right now) questions about this and that

E61 and Skype: That is not 'normal' skype appears that it's just taking link to the next level and a serveer "playing" to be your main PC remotely and for a monthly fee at that , PPC it's plug and play on any device even non touchscreen smartphones, I wish Symbian could do that. As for now there is no news on the matter from Skype link and I have been in contact with that very Jaanus (in his native language).

E61 and internet radio: Yeah many times people confuse these things, first of all there is a number of 3rd party software that have "hard links" that you can't add (except for sometimes you can get additional ones from THEIR list, kind of like iTunes, you're limited to what they have.)
I am talking about "direct stream links" perhaps they have an actual name/term for them?

Secondly if you are able to with ANY Symbian compatible player out there (trust me I've even dug up things such as "PVplayer" to try it) stream any of these PLS let me know!

All one and the same channel!

PDF reader on the E61: Well I hardly ever use PDF, and the PDB files have nothing to do with PDF, the E70 came with a PDF reader, no need for it though for us.
What I am talking about is "pdb, Palm database, a file format generally used to store data for an application or ebooks " I have an number of research tools/dictonaries/encyclopedias (that get update on a regular basis) that are available in this format (only!).

THANKS for you replies !

*anthonyb*, thanks for the Skype and PDF+ links above... I'll try them on my N80! I already discovered the Internet radio trick (I use it all the time).

Ecks2, dude, this entire thread, in my opinion, became me trying to get you to understand what Tzones can do for you however you just dont want to get it.
I am finished. Its like leading a horse to water and he wont drink. Forget it okay. No tzones for you. Spend all your money on whatever you choose.

I will continue to beleive the E61 has is the best browser. The only person here that could change my mind would be tnkgrl since she knows the Opera and Nokia browser. I dont have time to try opera since I already have the Nokia. My E61 browser at 50 prcnt zoom out is exactly like my PC no matter what web page I go to. It just doesnt have Flash.

Nokia just rules.

Note my words above "nor do I need them but sounds like they are the best solution for you and you love it!" since I use a Sony TX750 with EGPRS (the EGPRS in that laptop I dont use daily, but on trips and when needed...) so the sim card that is "for" the laptop I keep in some mobile device on an every day basis. There are also other reasons why I need the full internet over Tmobile, so no offense I am glad for you that it works for you, but it is not what I need, ok? No offense and I'm not trying to say anything bad about Tzones, just its not the right tool for me ok?

Let us know if you try the Skype thing, on FRING I finally got their invatation SMS 72hrs after I requested it...
It requires you to make a new nickname with FRING and you use your phonenr as userid, so it again is not a direct skype login thing, I thought Fring would be more direct.

Have you tried this on Symbian browsers?

I have to confess I never looked much into the E61 (prior to your posts here) as I never liked the Treo form factor (even though I bought the HW6945). I did look into it somewhat after your posts (despite that Symbian won't do what I want for now), one thing that hit me was the resolution of the E61 320x240 (E70 despite its screen size is 352x416). But then again as I showed here its not only about resolution but also how the browser display things link

After have used a VGA PDA I have a hard time to settle for QVGA phones, I have one now but eagerly awaiting all the VGA phones coming out.

In fact I have used Nokia (and only Nokia) mobilephones from 1991 till 2004 when I ran into the Sidekicks which for email purposes and keyboards were the ideal for the job, but if I wouldn't want something more I wouldn't be having these discussions on here Sidekicks do what they can very well, but what they can do is very limited.

Nokia is a product of Finland, we Finns are known for high quality products

Such as:

link (used in most jewlery places around the world)
link (found in any luxury yachtclub around the world)
link (loved by many outdoor lovers)
link (loved by many living in cold climates)
link (found in the engine compartment of just about any of the cruiseships)
link (considered the best up in northern Europe)
link (for the kitchen )

Did you know Nokia used to make PC's also? Which became ICL and then Fujitsu Siemens.

Did you know there is also a 2nd mobilephone company from Finland?

Now every other phone has GPS builtin but Benefon was (one of?) the first to have it:

*anthonyb* is right... I've used the Nokia browser on the E61 and it's definitely the best browsing experience I've enjoyed on a phone! The screen on my N80 (and on the E70, I presume) is too small. Since the N95 and E90 both have larger screens, I expect them to match (and in the case of the E90, surpass) the E61 experience. The Nokia browser is amazing, as long as you don't run out of memory

Yeah the E70 screen is too small, it's weird because I never got that feeling with the 6820 (which obviously is a lot smaller) I guess I never tried to do "as much" with it..

As for the E90 it's very close to being two E70 screens next to each other. 352x416 (E70) and 352x800 (E90) I just hope the 352 (height) won't be too little? There is also hope that by the time the E90 comes out that there would be Skype for Symbian.

They share the same LCD? They both have 352x416, imaging the E90 as two of those next to each other (which is more than the E90 will be) makes me indeed think the E61 might be nicer despite the QVGA resolution, but I get the feeling you are refering to more than resolution?

This is what I'm talking about, after have used Opera Mobile on a VGA 640x480 device, the QVGA resolution levels with these kind of browsing experiences is something that bothers me:

With VGA and Opera Mobile browser hardly ever do I need to zoom or scroll on websites.
