From Gizmodo -- link
It surprises even ourselves when we say that HTC's Shift should be the UMPC device that makes us—who were mild on UMPCs before—a fan of the platform. Instead of using a split keyboard or a *shudder* on-screen circle pad, the Shift makes like the Advantage with its sliding and flipping screen. With the input problem solved, you can really enjoy the 7-inch touchscreen, 30GB hard drive, Tri-Band UMTS/HSDPA, Quad-Band GSM/GPRS/EDGE, Bluetooth 2.0, Wi-Fi, and Windows Vista.
More so than the Advantage, the OQO2, or the Flipstart, the Shift can serve as a substitute for a laptop when you're out of the house, away on business trips—or hell, even at home.
When we played with it last week, we found the keys very comfortable, the weight fairly light (but heavy enough to be solid), and the touchscreen responsive. Current plans has it headed for a Q3 2007 release, which honestly isn't soon enough for us. We're ready to leave our laptops at home now. – Jason Chen

It seems pretty big, I would love to mess with one for awhile, it may be good. Who knows? Glad I'm not at any of these expos, I would hate to be that close and not be able to touch it.

nice video, thats actually 1 of the better videos of any products ive seen. their pusher actuallly seemed knowledgeable about the device & enthusiastic. if they are going to be quoting 5+ hour battery then hopefully that means 4hours or so real world.

Well, Well, Well... It's a phone too! I hope there are no delays on shipping this puppy. It looks like a cool, cool, Summer for Ultra-Mobile users.

If they put an Intel chip in it I would buy it in a second. Love the looks of this thing.

Thanks for that link, Scoobie!
Just watched the whole thing (about 35 minutes..) and while it's not the most exciting presentation I've seen it had a lot of good content in it and does give you a good overview of where things are going in this arena....
Highly recommend everyone to take the time to watch it!

I liked the Shift, but now I'm lusting for the Fujitsu. Help me! Finally, finally, these people are taking us seriously. Pretty soon I'm gonna go from not liking anything on the market to wanting one of each!
