Flybook V5 8.9" Tablet Vista Business w/ U2500 1.2ghz dualcor processor.

thought I'd ask some questions.

1. If anybody can suggest other good forums, then let me know.

2. I plan to replaced the 60gb hard drive with a 32GB Solid State Drive. My question is I did not install the touchscreen and display drivers yet because I plan to attempt to put a Fujitsu P1610 8.9" WXGA (1280x768) touchscreen to replace the 1024x600 8.9" touchscreen in the flybook.

Q: I was thinking I should install the Fujitsu display and touchscreen drivers instead of the Flybooks or does it matter? I know I was reading about people upgrading their MacBook screens and how some displays wouldn't work due to different inverters inside...anyway, any direction or pointing towards a site would be much appreciated.
4. I'm also going to buy the ExpressCard for PCI-Express for this Flybook and hook it up to a T221 or two, so I'll report back as to what my impressions are for that device...you can find it at link

4. I also want to upgrade the RAM. The manual says I can swap out the two 1GB sticks with two 2GB sticks to give it 4GB. It's not Santa Rosa based, and the sticks in there say 667MHz, so I imagine I wouldn't get any speed increase if I put in 800Mhz sticks in there (assuming that such exists)? Then another question is...are all 667Mhz notebook RAM sticks that fit the same? Or do some outperform the other assuming the comparison have the same 667Mhz label and fit into the slot?

Sounds like a very awesome buy. Let me know how the lcd swap goes.

It's dual core (or Core Duo), not dualcor... Dualcor is the name of a handtop prototype that ran both WIndows XP and Windows Mobile!

Will do...hopefully I don't fry the flybook...it'll be frybook then which would make me sad. I need to do some more reading about compatible inverters to be more sure before I do this...the P1610 should be here next week, so I'll report back then. If you know of any links that might be helpful then I'd appreciate it.

How about Duo for short...just seems cuter. ;o)

Okay, I figured out the problem.

tnkgrl, do you have to have your OQO battery connected in order for the HSDPA to work?

Now i need to decide whether I want to use Vista Business which uses 10GB of space or XP Pro which uses 3GB of space.

Sierra has vista drivers and software here: link

Thanks for the link.
