Does anyone know of a good OQO specific solution to extending the range of the builtin wifi antennea.
I have seen the USB solutions but was hoping there was something that is specific to OQO thats been done.
I need it because there is a free City of Chicago wifi I can connect to. From the location I am at, my friends Lenovo laptops work gets the signal but my 01+ does not.
Anything done before ?

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but those things will not work with an 01+ as the ext ant port was removed on it. Those fixes only worked with the 01.

jobjob,
do you have to be plugged in via the ac adapter on your OQO to use this WiFi adapter, or is it true USB powered? I'm asking as a few of my external USB hard drives work only when my OQO is plugged in, not via the internal battery. Thanks.

jobjob, my usb harddrives work fine without help using the OQO usb ports.
The harddrive must be able to work with less than 500 milliamps. The 2.5 hitachi hardrives might this low power requirement and work well.

500 milliamps is a USB minimum power spec.
