Hi Forum,
has someone ever try to use the 01+ as a videorecorder via external USB 2.0 Videograbber?
I need a small hdd recording unit (full PAL 720x576) for videointerviews and the 01+ cost me the same as a special recording product. But the 01+ i can use above other things.

My wife tried to use my OQO Model 01+ in that manner, without a lot of success, but the old video-grabber she was using was also controlled by software on the OQO, so that might have been part of the problem. She had lower than acceptable frame rates.

I would borrow a unit and give it a try before committing.

Also, you need to remember that the OQO Model 01+'s USB port is not powerful enough to run USB equipment such as portable hard drives and the like, you would need to check that out as well. And finally, the Model 01+ gets hot, sometimes very hot under high loads, and the battery life is, well, not that great. If you can live with these factors, and it can be made to work, what a great little unit it is.
