tnkgrl - Thanks for documenting this. Have you had much time to use the FS? Thoughts compared to other devices you have used (looks like you've been through a few!)?

@wodin I've been using the AT&T MEdia Net data plans for years now on everything from smartphones (both tethered and directly), data cards and built-in modems with both EDGE and HDSPA and I've never experienced this throttling (if that's actually what it is) ever before! So I'm not sure what was causing it - this throttling was gone later when I used my HP Mini-Note tethered to my Nokia N95-3...
It was either a network glitch, or AT&T is experimenting with something new that only applies to data cards and built-in modems (the mini-PCIe card I used for the mod has never caused me any problems in the past).

@mhoepfin the FlipStart is large (and ugly) compared to the OQO Model 02 - it's also RAM challenged (only 512 MB) and limited to 5 mm thin (single platter) 1.8" ZIF hard drives, vs. 8 mm (double platter) 1.8" ZIF hard drives...
However the FlipStart features a much better CPU and video card than the OQO Model 02, and there's more physical room for mods - the trackpad (in addition to the trackstick) and webcam are useful too!

Well, I finally got myself a Dell 5520 card on eBay and will be fitting it to DVT-154 soon; mine doesn't have the Sprint card installed (that I am aware), so I'm really hoping it is ONLY the card that it is missing, and not the antenna! Also got my forwarded box of goodies so I've got two cameras, two cases, two batteries, etc for it, and a rugged case. Yeay Dynamism and their little clearout!
Occurs to me that it'll soon be the 1st anniversary of my Flipstart landing on these shores.

@tnkgrl Sorry, I missed that.
Is having HSUPA (4G?) worth the extra bucks even though I don't think AT&T has it here? Future upgrade perhaps? What kind of schedule do they have for rolling it out?
