Looks like according to a discussion here:

concerning a benchmarking of the new Via Nano and Intel's Atom based cpus, that the Via Nano flatout beat the atom. Furthermore the nano uses roughly the equivilant amount of power as the C7-M. This looks very promosing.

Looks like OQO made a good decision to go with VIA based processors.

I personally can't wait to see what the 03 is going to be capable of. (READ: please give us a better standard resolution. At least 1074 x 600)

of course it beat it, these chips arent even in the same league. the Nano sucks down a whopping 8w while the Atom is only 2.4w

Atom would still out perform the current Via based OQO & add battery life. Nano would out perform it even more but offer the same abysmal battery life.

Well that is peak load. They idle at roughly the same voltage. So really it just depends on your usage. Also while the Nano uses more per cycle it also accomplishes more in a shorter amount of time. So you just have to ask yourself, would i rather get more work done and have shorter battery life, or longer battery life, and take longer to complete similar tasks.

I'd say battery life, on my agenda, is second when compared to performance.

How abut waiting for this Gigabyte model?

Soon to be available also sold as AIGO (MID).

spec and style wise it doesn't foot the bill. I want a full feature pc, not a barebones one.
I'm sure others will rave about this though. It's just not for me.

Wait I'm not following, this is a HANDTOPS site, what do you mean by FULL FEATURE PC? Also not sure
how you're applying the "barebone" term here, do you mean you don't want a netbook or??

It looks to be geared more towards the mid market. I want something designed to be a PC (complete as is possible in the form factor) not something that is designed to be cheap and smaller.

I would love to have something cheaper and smaller. But interestingly, this one is not really so much smaller that it would make a difference. I'd like to see something a little bigger/heavier than the Nokia N810 that can handle basic web, word processing, and pdf.

If you don't want cheaper or smaller why not get one of the Sony, OQO or Flipstart or Netbooks on the market now?

Aah the Nokia N810 *CAN* handle those things...!?
