Raon Digital's Everun Note with its Dual Core 64 bit AMD Turion Processor is now available from Dynamism.com.

This is basically the first 7-inch PC with a Dual Core 64-bit CPU available on the consumer market. It boasts a crystalmark score of 40161 and the ability to run Half Life, Unreal Tournament 2003 and other 3D intensive games without so much as breaking a sweat.

A full review and links to an extensive photo gallery are available here.

I'd have to say this is the most exciting new release since the Vaio UX launch of July 2006... I'll let you guys know how it works for me when I get a unit in my grubby little hands.

Until then you can see my initial post and thoughts on this. and its competitors here.

Better than the new Sony?
Are you not tempted to wait for the next Sony? Surely it can't be far off now?

I'll be honest with you... after owning multiple Sony devices over the years (the most recent being a UX280P) I'd have to say that unless I got to use the toys in the Sony lab and had unlimited access to batteries and other accessories, I don't want another Sony PC.

The UX follow up is coming sometime toward the end of Q1 to early Q2 2009 and as amazing and groundbreaking the anorexic OLED based wonder will be, the fact is, what reaches retail will be a crippled shadow of what is in the lab, with modifications made to effect their price-point/profit ratio and to ensure that you always have to come back to buy a bunch of overpriced crap that should have been in the box to start with.

Then the inevitable power source dilemma that will undoubtedly follow just to make sure you keep hemorrhaging money into Sony's pockets after you buy the device... clever business, but not for me...

I'll stick with the brands that don't have a name to fall back on when they make crappy products and forced to make something worthwhile in order to stay in the game... the result is a product without buyers remorse, unlike so many Apple and Sony devices!

P.S. Maybe I'll even shell out the cash for the refresh of the Roper Switchback...

I know what you mean about Sony stuff.
The UX was a big let down so I avoided that.
Have they installed a decent keyboard in the new model?
