some pcie ssd hard drives are getting real cheap : http://jkkmobile.blogspot.com/2008/11/runcore-and-mydigitalssd-team-up-high.html (pcie ssd hard drives mod for some netbooks and links to where to buy some drives)
any idea if it would be possible to put one of them in the flipstart (instead of the EVDO pcie modem) ?

oops I've read the comments on the jkkmobile blog and it says that these ssd drives need a special pcie slot suporting IDE, which the flipstart probably doesn't have ...

I'm not sure if that SSD will be fast, I'm currently trying Mtron Mobi 32GB SSD.

It said to have 100MB/s Read and Write. I will let you know how it goes.

Got it install, I'm afraid it still have the problem that TK mentions. I can't wake up from sleep, either in vista or xp. BUT the bright sight is my boot time is around 20 sec. So who need sleep functions.

What I can say it is lighting fast.and also I'm waiting on Mtron to get back on me on this problem. (New Firmware is out too so I will try that later on if I can download it that is).

It working perfectly, mine took 10 sec to wake up.

But my gate keeper and my wifi don't like it (it just on mine I have problem with USB wake up driver error)

jkk mobile has a nice review of the runcore 1.8" zif ssd drive, only $200 for the 64GB one at mydigitaldiscount (the 128GB one is 8mm and won't fit in the flipstart)
