Quote from OQO Talk

"OQO, Inc. announces the new model 2+ with the Intel Atom processor, the world’s first PC OLED display, and worldwide 3G capability. Based on the 1.86GHz Intel Atom processor and 2GB RAM, the OQO model 2+ offers performance up to twice as fast as its predecessor and includes an embedded touchscreen for easier input.

Will be shown at CES and also the night pre CES @ "Digital Experience!" for some hands on time."

Could be interesting, wonder what happened with the VIA Nano?

Impressive model launch with two exceptions
- they haven't improved the speaker in the device - and its pretty ppor
- more importantly its still 800x480 screen resolution which is pretty useless for most users

I told you so. OQO is in finanical crisis and on the verge of going bankrupt. As reported in the Wallstreet Journal they are desparately seeking a buyer as they are in severe cash flow problems and the 2+ is dead in the water. That new version would do nothing to change their fate. Their problem has always been the lack of a touch type keyboard, without one they are doomed to fail just like Flipstart did. Just look at their weak sales, expensive price, and increasing competiition.

That is just about the most ridiculous proposition that I have seen in years, in fact it is quite idiotic. The OQO sells on size. To accommodate a touch type keyboard it would have to be a lot bigger. What is the point? With all respect, comments like the one above indicate that the writer has lost the plot, or his mind, or both. A lot of small to medium sized companies like OQO in niche markets are currently in trouble, not to mention a fair number of larger ones. To the writer of the drivel quoted above, get a Raon Digital note and stop mouthing off on every forum dealing with handtops about your insane preoccupation with touch keyboards.

The OQO might sell on size but they have not been able to sell very many. I do agree with primaz about the keyboard. If they made in longer then it would be able to have a keyboard and still be coat pocket size. Sure that is larger than a shirt pocket but it would be a better computer to me. I would never buy an OQO unless they did some radical change to provide a keyboard.

Hahah, Primaz doesn't give up on the touch type keyboard. Saw him going on about that on another forum and immediately remembered his raving here from years ago. :-D

Get a life dude, years go past you're still bitching about OQO's keyboard?
