A few days ago I was lucky enough to get my hands on a couple of preproduction OQO Model 02’s, batteries, a power supply, and a dock. I was also able to do a size comparison with a couple of OQO Model 01+’s…

Here are
some pictures with descriptions - enjoy

Here is the video in which I compare the size and screen brightness of a couple of preproduction Model 02’s vs. a couple of Model 01+’s…

I also demonstrate accessories and discuss the slider, the track stick, the EVDO performance, and the not-so-secret [Ctrl]+[Alt]+[Del] shortcut!

Thanks to Bob Rosin of OQO for letting me have some alone time with the Model 02. It is much appreciated! (Click here to read the rest)

She introduced me to Adam Gould (support engineer), and we went to
Cafe Gratitude for lunch. There we spent about an hour talking about the OQO.

I shared my first impressions of the OQO with both of them, primarily from the perspective of an ultra-mobile user. My OQO arrived Tue Nov 9, so my time spent using it is still pretty limited.

The only problems I've experienced so far are:
* Small fonts are hard to read on the small screen, but this is because of my bad eyes and Window's bad user interface (not all fonts are scaled up when you select (Click here to read the rest)

So I got my OQO!. I stayed up late last night playing with it and here are more impressions...

I design sound engines for video games so the first thing I installed on my OQO was Winamp with the MAD plugin. Well the OQO sounds great! There is no noise and, contrary to my iPod, the output is powerful enough to drive high impedance headphones like my Beyer Dynamic DT 990 Pro at high volume... (Click here to read the rest)
