Good points, although the touch screen is never leaving. A wacom based touch screen is what your looking for. You never use the pen... you never have touch screen.
The OQO 01 had an external antenna connector. No one used it. (despite some active expermentation on the subject... (read picasso))
Not sure about what you mean with the power button. If you hold down the power button on the OQO it shuts off completly just like a regular desktop.
The OQO does have a charge level indicator on there batteries.
Also I know people are still using them like crazy but pcmcia slots are going the way of the wind as well. Its a dead technology.
Somethings I would add are:
-Port plugs (To plug the ports you don't use.. keeps things out. Which is very important in such a small space)
-Oqo could garner much more profit if they created their own line of accessories. (Ie bluetooth mouse and keyboard, etc.)

2dis - good observation on the port plugs... my new UX180P had a wide open memory stick slot (at least my Treo came with a "blank" for the SD slot). I bought a 2Gb memory stick mainly to plug the hole, though I figured if I was going to do so, I'd get a big one and use it for file transfers...

Ports on the side are a bad idea. How are you supposed to hold it while devices are connected?

But, Chekote, How are you supposed to stand it with devices connected to the bottom?
A real question (i.e., not rhetorical) to you guys that own an Oqo: What types of things do you have connected while holding it in your hands? And how often are those things connected?
Maybe I should start a thread, though - thinking it might be off-topic.

Hmmm... you can't hold it with ports on the side, and you can't stand it with ports on the bottom??? Make up your mind... I've anxiously awaiting a good HSDPA/UMTS USB modem for my UX. In thinking about its placement, if I'm holding like a handtop should be held (two hands so the keyboard is usable), then the port need to be either top or bottom... for this type of device, a USB port at the top would be good for radio reception. However, I can see a bottommost port being useful as well. Topmost would enable me to use the modem while the UX is docked. Its definitely a trade-off, but for a handtop device, the ports need to be top or bottom, not the sides. I'm gonna take a guess that piperpete doesn't actually own a handtop (OQO, UX, etc) or else he wouldn't be advocating ports on the side...

I was kidding about the bottom ports, Support. You know - tongue-in-cheek and all.
But I already stated I don't own an oqo, and you know that, so I consider that a cheap shot ;-)
However, I am gathering I wouldn't mind either (or both would annoy me), because it would be useful in a dock to have them on the sides, but in the hand I agree that it would be easier at the bottom and/or top (depending of which stuff is to be connected - antennaes as you mention, for instance.

Its all in how you use it... when my UX or OQO is mobile, having ports on the top/bottom is best for handability (is that a word?). When docked, those same externals are plugged into a USB hub connected to the USB port on the docking station/cable, thus its a non-issue... at least for me.
