"kensington bluetooth dongle dial up software"
Kensington could be your problem, these have been notoriously bad. As for me, I had instant success with com. manager and gave up on the other method. Since then I have returned both of my LG 500s and got myself and HTC TyTN with HDSPA and a Cingular 8125 with EDGE for my wife.
Sorry I can't be more helpful.

re: CU500 connection
I finally gave up on connecting via bluetooth and was going to wait on the cable...I opened Motorola's Phone tools (I had for my Razr) to use another application and just for the heck of it clicked on internet.....I picked a motorola phone at random from the list and let the software discover my CU500...It connected to cingular on the first try! So I guess until LG gets up to speed with software at least i'm connected. THe text messaging features in the Motorola software work for the LG as well, but so far not the sync..

Can I use this plan along with the sim card on a wlan laptop or through an external card or do I need the internet plan and the software to do so?
Thanks in advance,
soda
