Hello All,

I'm planning on buying a Raon Vega on Dec 1st.

The blogs stop around two weeks ago on this site and I wanted to know if anybody else picked one up in the past couple weeks?

How has it been working?,

Also, the previous posters, Any more thoughts, good or bad would be much appreciated.

I was originally going to buy the Sony UX or a used Flybook because I feel that I need a GPRS modem but I just configured my blackberry 8700C as a GPRS Modem and now I guess I can get any UMPC.

Also if you have used a USB SIM card GPRS stik please post your findings, looking at one of those too

TIA for any thoughts,

Lasareath

Thinking seriously about it, but I have not pulled the trigger, yet

I know wormdrummer has just sold theirs on Ebay. They had posted a fairly positive review of the device running XP Tablet edition but I am not sure what selling it so soon says about how useful they thought it was in the end.

Yeah I saw that last night, And they bid almost $1000. These people are crazy. I would have just bouight it on Dynmism.com

link

Maybe wormdrummer sold it because they wanted to just review it?, I have no idea.

I've had mine 3 weeks from (dynamism(great company)) am using it as gps data logger
xp pro was easy install after I trashed XP home resizing hard drive with paragon
battery life as data logger is great 6.5 hr screen off
I bought 2nd battery I would now build a 12v power supply as noted below:

Wishes/questions/comments:

The power cable slips out too easily.
Is there a 12v adapter?
Does it run on from 10-15v as indicated in docs? If so 8 AA cells, a 8 cell holder and some soldering would make battery life more than I need.
Does it come in black?
Can a user swap the hard drive or does this void warrantee?
I ordered a frogpad keyboard but user mapping of keys would be very helpful.
The English Manual could be helped with some editing.
It needs built in WiFi.
It runs hot
It needs rubber feet (battery is too slick)
Bluetooth built in would be nice.
RJ-45 built in would be nice.

I think the price went so high because a scammer made the final bids. I actually bought the Vega from wormdrummer when he relisted. If anyone has any questions post them here. I will try to answer them when we complete the deal and I get my new toy.

Well I have finally received my Vega and I have to say I am very impressed. I've used a P1510, Sony UX and Samsung Q1 for extended periods and I have to say this is my favourite device so tar. Office 2007 runs great. Battery life is fantastic, the screen is excellent and the buttons make it so much easiee to use. It's almost as good as an active digitiser with a button that allows you to move the cursor using the touchscreen without registering a click. Mine is running Tablet PC and I think that is essential. The only downside is the external Wifi. Built in bluetooth, wifi and Tablet edition would make this device perfect IMHO.

Can I upgrade XP home to Tablet?
