The G900 phone has a 3" 800x480 phone, yet it won't work with AT&T...might work with T-Mobile but then you'd be stuck with EDGE instead of the triband HSDPA goodness...but nonetheless a high resolution phone beyond VGA has arrived in Europe. I know someone in London that is buying this phone this week. This phone has the highest PPI of any display currently on the market...that includes computer monitors. Therefore, it will be nice to see how he reports on the scaling capabilities of the phone. High resolution is one thiing but without an OS to make it readable, it's like reading with the wrong eyeglass Rx.
It'd be sweet if Apple came out with a 800x480 3" iphone...doubtful unless another carrier takes Apples cake with a phone of higher resolution. Apple's cards have been played, now it's time for the competition to play...catchup.

The G900 will work just fine with at&t/cingular, yes it won't work with the HSDPA that Cingular (at&t) uses but it will work just fine with the 1900mhz band, of course the lack of 850mhz will make it not useable in SOME of the At&t areas (and also Tmo for that matter since they rent some 850mhz from at&T). For me EDGE is sufficient for now at least.
For me personally I want 4" but then again the 3 vs 4" gets somewhat distorted with the widescreen vs normal VGA (640x480).
The G900 is also available in a SOFTBANK version looks kinda Appleish

*educationk12* I don't know anyone at Premier wireless, so I just called them and talked them into selling me a card
The MC8775V's voice features probably won't work with the Model 02 as it probably requires additional interfacing with the hardware in order for the audio to work... But I'm not sure!

I was thinking that I could run into problems with the voice aspect. I definitely had an impossible time getting the GPRS device with GSM to work with audio. It would work with the supplied wired headset but nothing else. Worse case scenerio is I end up with HSPDA...the expensive route. ;O)

Not so much changing my opinion of the iPhone, but it certainly makes me think well of Apple's customer service. It would be good to know whether this was in response to something in the service plan, just for perspective. (It's rare enough, but "no questions asked" screen damage is covered under some plans.)

From first hand experience I can tell you that OQO will not give you the same "no questions asked" service, don't dream of it being free either !

Not only is the iPhone locked to the network (AT&T), it is also locked to the SIM used during activation. And yes, my iPhone SIM works with all my devices, including my OQO (at full HSDPA speeds, of course).
I temporarily have 2 AT&T accounts, but my existing AT&T account is contract free, so I can cancel it soon without penalty. As for the different phone number on my iPhone, I don't really care since my main phone number is with T-Mobile "
Did you see this?

Makes sense...some might want one without all the bells and whistles. Plus there are alot of people who would be walking around with an iPhone today if the price wasn't so steep. So it makes sense to offer one that is more practical $$$.

ummmm.... speechless.
I think if I coudl get some actual data on this I just might have a case to present to the wife.
I don't see this allow you to do any gaming, but things such as data entry, and the like could be accomplished, combine it with a bluetooth kb, and you just might have a very good solution. Although I don't liek the idea of having my computer on all the time. If it could be worked to do a wake, and standby mode from remote that woudl be cool.

No.
I don't get it.
It's another device for some Starbucks-loving, time wasting, latte drinking kinda fool...jk
I'll get one when I win one at some conference, but I'm not buying one. ;)
I loved my Treo 650 until I found my BlackBerry and now I'm pretty content with my BlackBerry.
