Wow, this is a cool little computer!! I am quite impressed. Surfing is snappy, applications come up quickly. Video is ALMOST flawless!! I dare say it plays better than the 02. Goes to show what an awful effect the use of Windows has on video playing capabilities. I played a divx file (Home Theater profile) without having to download any drivers. There was an occasional but consistent single hiccup when playing full screen, it seemed to go away for non-full screen.
Had no problem recognizing a USB mouse or a thumb drive.
I think this could be a go-to machine for writers or casual users who just need something to surf and write with a the coffee shop. A fantastic alternative to the similarly sized Fujitsu P1610.

I'll probably get the 2gb version too, but only if it comes in non-pastel......
I bet the $299 will work just as well as the $399, for my purposes.

Interestingly, the Eee is faster at writing to SD cards than the U810. Looks like the U810 will take about 75 minutes to write 11 GB of movie files.
