Greetings,

I've found myself to get an OQO 02 lately...

Is it something you guys would consider buying if looking now for a really small device or would you consider something else or wait for the next crop of devices that I assume will be coming out early next year???

Thanks in advance for any and all input!

Mark

Oops, forgot to mention....have OQO 02/1.6GHz/32GB SSD/Vista Bus on its way from Dynamism....should be here Monday!

They have sale price on most OQO's and are including an extra battery and the executive case at no charge.....so not too bad.....

However, TigerDirect also has a sale going on now thru this Sunday I think, which is good, but they don't have SSD models from what I saw....

So you didn't wait till monday what is monday Dec 3 reveals a new OQO

ecsk2, I feel pretty comfortable from various sources that there won't be a new 03 on Monday...rather it will add HSDPA option.....so for me not an issue...on the other hand I suppose everyone could be wrong and I'll feel miserable on Monday.... ;)

Did I say that there would be an 03 released?

HSDPA is still an very nice option for many reasons, although I doubt it will be released for the US at this point?

If the announcement is HSDPA, they need some better marketing chops. That's no big deal and is inconsistent with them telling some folks that it's not just an enhancement.

Plus, what % of folks actually activate the integrated access? The 02 is a second device for most people, so it makes more sense to get a phone and do DUN, or a usb stick that you can transfer to another computer or the kick-ass cradlepont router (which will also take a phone).

Who says? I haven't brought the OQO (yet) simply because it isn't yet capable of being my only device.

There are two camps, people who don't mind carrying multiple small devices and people (like me) who only want to carry *one* device. HSDPA on the OQO puts it one step closer towards me buying it...

Well the OQO has had WWAN for a while now just not for the international market....

I'm with you up to a point. I'm perfectly content to carry a cell-phone and a small computer, but I'm not content to have to run back to the desktop when I want to get anything serious done. Basically, I want my devices to double- (or even triple-)up, as long as they're good at doing all the functions. I want a handtop that's capable of being my primary computing device.

It would be interesting know stats of the buyers of the 02, but probably not even OQO has that info.
