Never heard of or seen the rugged case for the Flipstart. I would love to see some better pictures or description if anyone any...

Hmm, looks interesting, looks like a plastic hard shell case designed for the FS. I ordered a brown Sena leather case, but they were back ordered. Now that I have the FS and the canvas "camera" case, that works well for me.

What ever I end up with, it'll have to have an extra pocket for my USB hub, mini mouse and thumb drives.

The rugged case is actually compressed and molded to fit the device. It comes with a shoulder-strap and allows you to open the device while it's in the case. It doesn't interfere with the cooling or controls and you can even view InfoPane while the case is on as well. It's pretty handy and makes the device much more rugged and usable when mobile.

Does it have room to store a mini USB hub, mouse, and thumb drives, or would I need to carry a separate stuff bag? How much weight and size does it add?

It shows up in my cart, but I'm not sure I want to buy one yet. I guess I'll call them and cancel the Back ordered brown Sena case, and order this one instead.

This case is not designed like a "bag' but more like a molded sleeve. It's made with compressed neoprene so it can take some shock and has d-rings to attach the strap. Think of it like a 35mm camera case that you put over your shoulder and can pull around in front of you to operate. It doesn't interfere with opening the device so you don't have to remove it to use the device.

Keith, interesting I never saw this on the Fipstart site as an accessory.... Was this held back more for the vertical markets?

I called Dynamism and cancelled the Sena case and ordered the rugged one, I was told that it would also be late shipping as it comes from Vulcan and they are currently engaged in getting as many FS out as possible and accessories would take a little longer.

mhoepfin, the rugged case came late to the party so it didn't make it onto the website as I had planned. They shut things down so fast that, even though the cases were ordered, the decision was made to leave them off the site. You should be able to call them and get one as there are plenty available. These were designed for vertical users but anyone could benefit from them as an easy way to carry it around.

Thanks, Keith.. I'm looking forward getting it. It's just what I need when I'm out and about and want to throw it around...

Thinking of the FS demise makes me sad...Such a well thought out device that is a real joy to use. I guess the moons just didn't line up or something...
