Comparing boot times isn't a real indication of overall performance, especially on laptops. Most of us use hibernate between stops so we don't have to go through the whole boot process. What I'd like to see is comparisons of hibernation/wakeup and loading apps.

I got one but I am returning it due to random crashes. I have XP, it may have been one of the first XP ones, it seems most people have Vista.

Yeah, HP tried but couldn't fix it. Did a whole bunch of updates. All that was left to try was to reinstall XP, but then the install disk wanted a key and the HP only comes with a Vista key. They sent me another XP disk that supposedly doesn't require a key, but I figure I've spent enough time trying to get a NEW product to work. So back it goes.
I actually liked it enough that I might buy it again after I hear about folks having no issues with XP. It has a gorgeous high res screen, unlike all the other competitors.

Well then that seems to confirm I just got a lemon. It did it's first crash about 2 minutes after I completed the XP registration stuff.
